Naomi Wolf? Lemony Snicket? Batman? Holy Occupation! They’ve all become allies of the Occupation Movement and found their way into news accounts overnight. Greg Sargent continues to be a leader in the reporting on the political implications of all this with the two following pieces:
Wall Street lobbyists rage at Dems for supporting Occupy Wall Street
By Greg Sargent
Politico channels the angst of Wall Streeters who are furious with Democrats for daring to whisper a word of support for the Occupy Wall Street protests:
After the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent a recent email urging supporters to sign a petition backing the wave of Occupy Wall Street protests, phones at the party committee started ringing.
Banking executives personally called the offices of DCCC Chairman Steve Israel and DCCC Finance Chairman Joe Crowley last week demanding answers, three financial services lobbyists told POLITICO.
“They were livid,” said one Democratic lobbyist with banking clients.
The execs asked the lawmakers: “What are you doing? Do you even understand some of the things that they’ve called for?” said another lobbyist with financial services clients who is a former Democratic Senate aide.
Wow. In embracing Occupy Wall Street, Democrats have managed to alienate Wall Street lobbyists and banking execs? What a fatal political misstep! Given their far reaching popularity, how will Dems ever recover?
In all seriousness, get ready for the next media storyline: If they support Occupy Wall Street in any way, Dems are going to take a major fundraising hit. It’s inevitable! The storyline, that is.
Has Occupy Wall Street Gone Mainstream?
The second piece at the link above is a must-read. The internal polling subject is critical to the position of Democrats. The Time Magazine poll is very straightforward and there is mounting evidence that the “radical” aspect of all this is being overplayed by the media. Now we see another one. Check out these links that suggest broader support than “mainstream” media and the various political interests care to consider (at their own peril):

If what appears to be growing support continues, it will be incumbent on those of us that look forward to a policy debate to articulate our vision of the Occupation Movement as it moves through a crucial stage of development. The General Assembly is the primary vehicle, but the dialog that occurs here is an important part of the process. Thanks for your contributions to comments and the Forum section.
Next up, Big Bad Bull**** Bankers.

Restructuring any debt first requires a default

Don't ever lose sight of how the bankers are destroying main street. It's not just the fraud and the swindling via securitization investments, it's the continual, daily draining of main street's wealth by forcing main street to default before any type of debt restructuring is even considered by the banks.

We think not!
They want us to go mainstream so they can discredit us.

Let's avoid letting that happen if possible. No politicians giving speeches at Occupy rallies. No corporate money. Alternative infrastructure all the way.
I will find a way or make one. DIY or die. Occupy reality.
What is the Occupy Wall Street Movement All About?

OWS – It’s about you and me, and the guy down the block who bought into the adjustable rate mortgage. And now after the last rate hike he could not afford, and the last turn down by the bank for a mortgage modification, it is just another vacant house on the street. Yep, and we the neighbors, take turns mowing the lawn so it is not blight on our little community. Sound familiar?
If you Listen, if you open your ears and your heart, that is precisely one of sounds you’ll hear from the people at any Occupy Wall Street movements you stroll through. They are tired of the game being rigged, the fix being in and the lack of justice in the financial market place for the hardworking middle class folks. OK, Think $5 charge to use an ATM to get out YOUR money just for openers. See the video and read the rest at

Coke is old-school but Pepsi is the choice of a new generation. Of course, both sides profited from this advertising campaign. It's
I know some Democrats here. Most of them are apologetic in their acceptence of a completely broken system. Even they can sense that something far greater is happening.
Politics / Entertainment

Anyone who believes this is a partisan battle to wage, Dem. vs Repug. is missing the boat altogether. There is no longer an appreciable difference between the two. They are both un-interested in the needs of the people. They are both working for corporate interests almost exclusively. Over 250 of the members of Congress are millionaires. Do you really believe they understand what the middle class and poor face each day ? Our politics is nothing more than the entertainment branch of industry. No solution is to be found within the present corrupted system in Wash DC.
