We are starting a Rootstrikers chapter here in LA.  Come join us!

What is Rootstrikers?  In a nutshell, it is a push to change campaign finance fundementally, addressing the problem directly rather than via the (seprate but still very important) issue of "Corporate Personhood" or the fraught, prone-to-backfire issue of "Money != Speech".  We propose an Amendment that codifies the *requirement* for fair, publicly funded campaigns; removes personhood from non-natural entities; and doesn't endanger free expression (which, yes, money can be a part of:  speech wouldn't be very free if you couldn't e.g. buy a book or defend your right to contribute to political campaigns *at all*)  Only this will return accountability to government, trust to "We the People", and have staying power.
