This is why we need an effective response mechanism to counter stories like this.  The media will inevitably focus on the extremists because they make good stories (for all we know, this guy was an infiltrator). 

This is also why we need much stronger and more focused messaging and demands.  The public needs to be able to distinguish for themselves who is a legitimate representative of the movement and who is not.  If the public hears repeated calls for NON-violence from the movement, they will more likely shrug off a story like this.

These stories will only serve to keep people away from the protests.  We cannot afford to let this happen!
