Everyone at Occupy has a talent. Some may be artists, other have the gift to gab, while others can beat a drum and keep rhythm. What is my talent…Knowing how to communicate with the LAPD officers. Not a big deal, but did you know that LAPD officers are in trouble and a good portion of them want us to succeed? Some of you are saying: WTF? Actually they really want us to make the change we are striving for. And the bank run we created by telling people to take their money out of the bank and putting it in a credit union or small local community bank who do not invest your money in Wall Street, well guess what, they supported it too. Why? Many of them were victims of the banksters and had exploding mortgages. And now, many lost their homes or are behind in paying their mortgages. No big deal?

 A few years ago, about the time the economy took a downturn, or little after, LAPDs Division vice/narcotics team were about to be investigated for their credit history. This was done by the command staff to, “weed out the bad cops”. So the union complained and told their officers get out of the specialized detail. Yet administrative vice who deal with the same issues but at a grander scale, including a lot more money, were excluded from the credit check. Again the LAPD officers dropped out of these specialized details. This made the brass mad…really mad. So what happened? They restricted overtime to pay for the mortgages but gave themselves raises and promotion (http://bit.ly/y4L7l0).

 With the unlimited overtime, officers were able to pay off their mortgage and remain relatively relaxed. Overtime included but not limited to going to court, booking and processing inmates. Well, the Command Staff said no. And just before and after N30, officers were paying off their mortgage. Now? At last night’s G.A., there were two Los Angeles General Service Police officers watching the G.A. and no LAPD. Overtime was cut…except for the command staff who probably got raises and or promoted. So now you see why an officer can be taken advantage of and forced to do things they generally would not want to do…to go against their own best interest.

Maybe it's time we Occupy a station, protest the Banksters with signs in frnt of all the 20 division cirtywide and remind them that there are officers who are victims of the Banksters and that the City push the responsible banking act. It may work.
