For many years I was engaged in activism. I was first enrolled with Ross Perot who ultimately really disappointed us. I then joined MOveOn during the Ken Starr circus. I even held demonstrations, meetups for MoveOn during HealthCare reform. I voiced my opinions on as many sites as I could comment on. I called radio shows, I spoke to people. I finally almost gave up because I knew that all these activities without broader participation without hardcore actions on the street would go no where. The system is set up to be immune to these types of activities, when you ask of it, it doesn't respond. It knows you will go away as they control all the levers of power. I became bitter, I became negative and it was hard not to want to bite peoples head off when they would opined on anything political. I wanted to yell at them and scream "CAN'T YOU PEOPLE SEE WHAT IS GOING ON!!!".
Well times have changed. I was so emotional when Occupy Wall Street was launched I had to push back the lump in my throat. I was giddy for days, I am still giddy and feel a deep sense of happiness in the pit of my stomach. You see I have always believed in the inherent goodness of human beings, and now I'm vindicated. The future looks bright again.
We have to change the government not the system but the people who are running the show. We need to break up the monopoly of the two party system, and demolish the FED, we need sound money. This is a start. Elect America is a possible solution to the break up of the monopoly of the the Dems and Gop. We need to get the Glass-Steagal Act laws back on the books, we need to remove the justices who voted to give the corporations the same right as man. We need election reform, healthcare for all, no more wars, new renewable energy technologies. The possibilities are endless. First we need to get to power people who will represent us the 99%. So I'm ready to roll up my sleeves again and work again for the new world.
Thank you everyone for finally doing this I love all of you!!
