Have a sign with your favorite martin Luther King quote, wear your your favorite MLK t-shirt - this day is all about the man who stood up to oppression and said no more!
No heavy items for the picnic, disposable (but preferably eco-friendly). No one will be manning a table at this picnic., So make sure you can throw it away or carry it with you.
Picnic 12 to 1:30/ 2pm
At the picnic people will be able to read brief passages of Martin Luther King letters, speeches, etc.
March 2pm to 2:30/3 pm
Occupy Signs: Must be 3 1/2 ft or smaller to follow Santa Monica laws. Recommend - t-shirts, bandanas, jackets, hats etc...
The march will be approx. 1 mile long. Once the marchers almost reach the destination, head of the march will Mic Check approximately every 10 to 15 feet until the reach the end of the march.
Mic Check(3) We are here to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr
At the end of the march, the marcher will be joined with 1 or more speakers to speak on the life and celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.
Needed:
* Megaphone
* iPod / mobile system
* Volunteer flier walkers (hand out Occupy fliers)
