Yes, the title of my blog may raise a few eyebrows, and I truly hope it does. Because 70 years ago on Feb 19, 1942, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed an executive order that forced more than 120,000 Japanese 60% being U.S. citizens into concentration camps on the west coast and as far east as Jerome Arkansas. This was the end-result of fear and racism against a group of people for whom the white folks felt that they would be a threat to the U.S.

 The camps were based on racism, xenophobia and stereotypes. Fast forward to 9/11 and today. Do you see it today? NDAA? E.O. 9066 was the precursor to NDAA indefinite detention based on fear. But the difference is, race is no longer the factor and just because you're white, race is no longer a factor. 

 So we need to find the root cause of the acceptance of NDAA. We need to go back past the concentration camps. Slavery. Even long before the revolutionary war. We need to go back to the age of the indigenous movement and how we (I take responsibility too) imprisoned the Indigenous folks in concentration camps called reservations. Once we accept the fact that we were the conquerors, we can go about changing the hearts and minds of our elected officials to repeal NDAA 2012, de-fund the military industrial complex, recognize all people of color, and live truly in peace. 

But until then, watch our freedom sink deeper and deeper into the quagmire of waste.
