Coerced Consensus - The Unwanted Gift of the Ruling Class

I'm going to start out by saying that I am proud of every last one of the people who has made ANY EFFORT AT ALL on behalf of the Occupy Movement or any other movement or cause aimed at making the world a better place or making life better for people. However, we are GAME PIECES to the ruling class, also known as the greedy few at the top of the 1%. They play us and for the most part we do just what they want us to. Demographics and statistics are all they need to predict almost everything we do. The laws favor them directly and restrict our choices like the squares on a checker board restrict where you can move your checker when it's your turn. THERE IS A WAY TO BEAT THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME! It MUST START with DOING SOMETHING THEY HAVE NO STATISTICS ON! This is why I said last night (Friday night) that I would leave the movement if I finished that lap around the block alone. I expected that people would join me, go half way around the block, turn right, and head to the bar. I knew that if there was not at least ONE PERSON able to surprise me, I might as well consider the movement a lost cause. Now I wish I had the names and phone numbers of the three people who actually finished the lap with me... but to anyone who knows who they were, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that the rest of the movement consider those people extremely valuable, because that is the element which the rest need to learn... to not do what is expected but instead do what is NEEDED!

You see, I gave people a choice which anyone wanting to silence me would have JUMPED AT THE CHANCE to make sure they failed to accept... and while none of what we do is easy and I'm not calling people in the movement wimps or anything like that (although I did use the word pacifist to express what I felt about simply letting things happen to us rather than doing something about it)... but the fact is, we're an over-worked group who are getting no direct rewards from our efforts, so I knew it would be easy for someone to redirect most or all and leave me walking alone. I expected they would succeed in redirecting everyone, but three people came through and showed me that the fight has not been taken won by the ruling class just yet. We still have a few among us who haven't forgotten that we all made conscious decisions to do what is right no matter how hard it gets. This is the difference between autonomous consent and coerced consent. It's not about whether or not you do what you're told or asked to do. It's about whether you do what you know is right for you to do or you simply follow the heard like you're expected to. WE ARE STRONGEST WHEN WE QUESTION ALL AUTHORITY! Don't take my word for it. Work it out for yourself... but please consider how crazy it is to keep doing the same thing when you haven't liked the results so far.

Simply put, if you consent to something that you don't want because you feel that no better choice will be allowed by those who are "in charge" then your consent is not really consentual but coerced. Sometimes this can happen without the victim even knowing about it. For example, if you choose not to vote, not because you wish the election to be decided without your input but because you feel that the system gives you no proper say anyway, then you are being coerced into giving your consent to let other people decide the election results which will effect your future. This is exactly what the ruling class wants and expects from those of us who are most passionate about making things get better. They want us to NOT BE COUNTED so that the system which keeps them in control will continue to be accepted as valid by the unsuspecting masses.

It makes me very sad that I was silenced when I should have been able to address a concern about my Occupy the Vote proposal after that concern completely framed it as something it was not and played right into the wishes of the ruling class. It disturbs me that so many people fell for the idea that NOT VOTING is the best way to show that the elections are invalid. That's a bit like saying that walking to work will make people stop buying gasoline for their cars. Sure, if enough of us refuse to use a vehicle that will make a bit more room on the road for those who continue to use them, and many people driving cars may be glad that we gave them the extra room, but that's not going to keep them from driving their cars. Likewise, the ruling class counts on the conservatives to vote relentlessly for the right wing of the Republican party in a desperate attempt to keep out the Left wing of the Republican party (better known as the Democratic party) and they count on the liberals to NOT VOTE until they see that the right wing of the Republican party is winning so that the final vote count is so close to 50% for each side that a little outright cheating can get them which ever side they want without anyone chatching them at it. So if we ACTIVISTS who wish to make a difference CHOOSE NOT TO VOTE, the ruling class will get EXACTLY what they want, because there are enough liberals out there who would rather vote Democratic than allow a Republican to win that the lack of our votes for what ever might have had a chance will be neatly filled by more votes for the Demo'publican tag team and we will have once again allowed ourselves to consent to the ruling class choosing all of the winning politicians in our elections.

Is that what you want? If not, please consider the fact that "not voting" has been tried by a great many people at every election in the USA and it does not help. They don't need our votes. In fact, they don't WANT our votes. They want the votes of the sheeple for their tag team of hand picked puppets just like they always get. SO PLEASE try to wake up the nation to what's happening. Please help me just this once to show that if we stop DOING EXACTLY THE SAME THING AND HOPING FOR DIFFERENT RESULTS we can actually make a difference. Every election many people vote for all kinds of fictitious characters and stuff like that to show that the system is not valid, but such votes come in so many varieties that few of them are ever counted. Meanwhile the LESSER EVIL votes push the Demo'publican election pendulum left and right until the polls close and then we get who the ruling class wanted us to get. This time can we try to stop that pendulum from swinging in only those two directions and get it to do something different? Can we educate each other and listen to each other about what candidates may not have sold out and write in OCCUPY for most political positions to show that we were there, that we care, and that we're not going to play their game the way they want us to... and so that we actually get counted without being coerced into an artificial consensus?

We so need REAL CHANGE but "inaction" is not the way to get it. Choosing to "not do something about it" as a way of being heard is nothing new. It's been tried many times. Many people WILL TRY IT this time also, and it will fail like it always does because even if NOBODY in the 99% votes, the 1% will still decide who wins. IF WE TEACH THE PUBLIC A NEW WAY TO BE HEARD, WE CAN OUTNUMBER THE "LESSER EVIL" VOTES. Then we will have shown that the system can be manipulated.... and we will have shown it in a way which can NOT BE HIDDEN NOR DENIED! That will allow us to get the reform which is needed... or at least some lame excuse for the reform that's needed, such as Instant Runoff Voting, which would STILL be way better than what we have.

If you want to learn how our elections can be repaired so that they will actually represent a balanced consensus rather than a biased plurality, check out my Inclusive Politics proposal which you can find a link to at http://FaceBook.com/OccupyTheElections

Hey you ot me to go on your

Hey you ot me to go on your late night march, and I almost never go on marches... we only wanted to take you to the bar district, and get as riled up as you were. Instead of shouting at them, you got upset with your supporters, and lost em. You had a decent size crowd agree to march too! You should be proud of yourself! :P
