On October 4, City Councilman Gil Garcetti made it known to protesters in front of City Hall that he is willing to introduce a mission statement for a vote by the members, but in the meantime he offered his support for the general principes of the protesters. The policy statements of Occupy LA will be found here as they become official as well as any proposals submitted to the City Council of Los Angeles.
As of October 5, the Demands Committee for Occupy LA is still considering proposals from any and all sources. The posts that identify events organized by other groups will require approval by the Occupy LA Action Committee and the General Assembly in the future or they will not be posted here.
The rains came overnight causing logistical problems that require waterproofing. Some of the items that would be helpful include wooden pallets, rubber boots, socks, panchos, towels, hats, gloves, paper towels, tissues, cold medicine, shaving supplies, toothbrushes, heat warmers, baby powder, shoes, umbrellas and of course food supplies. Coffee and tobacco continue to be welcome.
