Why is there nothing on this site about the court trials?

Right now, many trials of OLA arrestees are occurring in Los Angeles, some of them on W. Temple, not 4 blocks from the site of the Nov. 30 raid.

There is nothing whatsoever about these trials on this site.

Why is that?

This is not content for a blog post, this is more of a forum topic. The reason there is nothing about it  is I have not gotten anything reported to me on it, and I myself could not go. If anyone who was there could write about it, and submit it to web@occupylosangeles.org it would be appriciated. All I got was a list of names, but I do not feel comfortable printing that info, I would like to know what has happened.

Chrlie this is the blog section, questions are meant for forums, this is how most websites function, sorry you are new to the internet.

I know I wouldn't want my personal info posted on a site, I dont think its right to do to anyone.

As I said someone gives me a story I post it.

Trials

Today most defendants are having Jury selection. Next week will be the trials and we need people in the courtrooms. Today there is a trial in West Covina Courts , div 5 at 9am, and across the hall in div.9 at 1:30pm. A member of Occupy was promised a full lists of individual court locations, divisions and times. These Courts are at 210 W. Temple , multiple divisions, the above mentioned West Covina, Airport on La Cienega Blvd., Pacoima, E. L.A., and there could be more. One individual is at 210 Temple right now trying to get a hearing there because he is homeless and has no way to get to other courts. Hopefully someone stepped up yesterday to be there for him. These trials are extremely important and our peeps need us there. Hopefully others can add to this info until the official information is posted in the proper or not proper places, but posted everywhere. I agree defendents names not important, we are Horizontal.I will tell you that in one courtroom the public defenfers closing statement will be the reading of the U.S. Constitution.

Charlie, Why Didn't You Post Information about the Trials?

You saw a need for information on the web site.  You have priveleges to add said information.  Rather than getting and sharing the information, you used your site privileges to complain about the need.  Way to go.

I nominate you to be on the court beat for the web site, or otherwise to be the author of something interesting and informative.

Whoa there

People are really touchy here?  Sounded to me like he was just asking a question, one that came to mind for me, myself.  I was glad I spotted it and now I know.

I'm not superfamiliar with this site myself (though I *do* know how to use the Net) and would not have known to look under "forums" or wherever.  I'm also not aware of a general information/site map page, so please don't yell at this guy like that, we are just trying to find things out.

Now that I know the trials are going on next week, I'll be able to show up.  Thanks for posting the info.  We need bodies there, physical presences.  The court cases are literally --maybe--the most important issue OLA's got going right now and it should be front and center.  I say that not to criticize, but to suggest--and *when* I come I'll do writeups and so forth.  I have to arrange to get off work, but I won't go down without contributing and bringing back info.

Cheers. We need to stick together, and fight the battles where they happen.  What happened to this camp is a total outrage and I have also wondered where that outrage is.  The challenge has been issued and it's in the courts, that's where the story is.  We all need to get down there and pack that courtroom and be a presence.

Actions Speak.

I heard today that five  cases were dismissed.I heard that a Public defender is fighting for a defendant in Pacoima. I can tell you that two amazing Public Defenders are giving their all at West Covina Court, divisions 5 and 9.I can tell you that the two defendants are fighting for us and willing to take the consequences of pleading not guilty and refusing any deals.I can tell you that I'm the luckiest occupy person in the world to be a witness to this event.I didn't think I could love the Occupy Movement more then I do until the last couple days.We will be back in West Covina in div 5 at 9am, and div 9 at 2pm on Jan. 3rd and I can't wait!
