Protest the Birth of the Corporation

Forums:

Proposed action:  a large solidarity rally in conjunction with two primary rallies:

One to be hold Simultaneously at 1 Market Street Embarcadero Plaza SF (former corporate headquarters of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company - now Union Pacific); The San Francisco Caltrain Station (former San Francisco terminus of the Southern Pacific Peninsula Line); the Palo Alto Caltrain Station - home of Stanford Univerisity - Leland Stanfords use of the gift of corporate personhood and 1,000,000 acres of land from the US Supreme Court in the 19th Century and Congress; and The Diridon Caltrain Station in San Jose - a major station of same railroad; and a second - east coast rally on the steps of the Supreme Court of the United States and in the Mall.

See wikipedia entry on corporate personhood that discusses the strange "case" in which an east coast railroad executive serving as Secretary to the Supreme Court (sound familiar) and a chief justice, speaking for the entire court and without the entire court's hearing, concurrence or opinion - tossed out a California attempt to tax the SP railroad's property in Santa Clara and San Mateo County - and in so doing interpreted the 14th amendment to the Constitution of the United States - meant to establish the rights of slave persons - to apply to corporations.
