The FDA took what was basically an herbal poison made from the autumn crocus, and privatized it.  Their excuse was that they needed to do some clinical trials.  In exchange for these tests, URL pharma is getting a 3 year monopoly on colcrys.  They raised the price from around .30 (or less) a pill to $5 a pill.

This medicine has been in use, safely, for centuries!
