Has anyone considered propositioning the banks to replace credit cards and other sources of imaginary money with a card that acts as a direct link to your bank account? While things like this proposed card already exist, online stores often only have credit card supported purchase options. In addition, banks promote their credit cards, leaving people unaware of alternatives.
Thus, by eliminating all other card options, we ensure a more stable economy for the consumers.
The only potential downside is the inability to make purchases that have the potential to drive you into debt. And while a credit line has its upsides, a similar options exists in taking out a loan. While loans can also drive you into debt, their users are less prone to impulse spending.
The last issue to address is the limiting of interest rates that loansharks can place onto their clients.
