The port shutdown action has attracted about 1500 in Oakland, and the in-progress action in Long Beach is turning into an epic live-stream event. Watch it here until its conclusion which at this point hinges on whether or not LBPD enforces their dispersal order. Disturbing events in Houston

Fox News Security visits to radio callers?
“We have your phone numbers . . . “
The video that accompanies this article must be seen to be believed:
So O'Reilly is going to call the cops and send someone to visit people who mention Olberman? This guy went over a cliff a long time ago. The only remaining question is how long its going to take to hit the ground. But there is ample evidence to suggest that Fox News isn't doing much to educate the masses. Especially those that seem to gravitate towards Fox as their primary news source:
“For example, people who watch Fox News, the most popular of the 24-hour cable news networks, are 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government that those that watch no news at all . . .”
"Because of the controls for partisanship, we know these results are not just driven by Republicans or other groups being more likely to watch Fox News. Rather, the results show us that there is something about watching Fox News that leads people to do worse on these questions than those who don’t watch any news at all."

Told ya' so: More proof that the Fox News audience gets a load of crap to sift through to find accurate information, a task made more difficult by the omnipresence of Mr. O'Reilly:
“In an appearance on CNN Sunday, Frum cited claims made on Fox News that President Barack Obama was proposing a 'new Christmas tree tax,' something that was found by both The Florida Times-Union and PolitiFact Orgegon to be not true.”

There is only one issue in America? Only if you're not part of the 1%:
“The economy of the world came down to the unholy trinity of guns, drugs and gasoline -- military industry, drugs (legal and illegal), and energy -- and now I would add agribusiness as the fourth controlling commodity, and always with the enabling bankers never too far out of sight making their profits far too often from wars and slave labor.”
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-van-zandt/democracy-in-america_b_11...
The same article that makes a number of worthwhile points:
“Yes, they are 'elected which creates the mass delusion of democracy to keep the masses from rioting, but congressional races are costing millions of dollars and some Senate seats are going for tens of millions each, and they're predicting well over one billion dollars for the next presidency.
“That's some democracy we've created there, isn't it?”
“Yes, we can demonstrate. We can march. We can write and sign petitions to our Representatives. We can occupy.
“Our representative can give us lip service. A lot of sympathy. Empathy even. But we don't pay their media bills, gabeesh?”
Demands update:
"It resolves nothing to just protest,” says protester, Valerie Cepero. “If you don't have a goal, then how do you know you've made any progress?"
The Occupy Maine group met Sunday afternoon to plan their next course of action and decided to pursue a suit against the city.

Boston eviction:
“Organizers of the Occupy Pittsburgh tent encampment said today they are 'seizing' the BNY Mellon's privately owned park in Downtown, will rename it 'People's Park,' and will serve BNY Mellon with an eviction notice Monday.”

Crowd control assist from U.S. Military proves that it isn't enough to be the world's largest exporter of weapons to developing countries. The military is stepping up to make sure the cops have armored vehicles and tanks for the benefit of clowns like Michael Bloomberg who likes to brag about his “army” being the seventh largest in the world. Orders up 400% over last year. Wonderful:
“Credit a 'ittle-known endeavor called the ‘1033 program‘ that gave more than $500 million of military gear to U.S. police forces in 2011 alone, Business Insider reported.”
“1033 was passed by Congress in 1997 to help law-enforcement fight terrorism and drugs, but despite a 40-year low in violent crime, police are snapping up hardware like never before. While this year’s staggering take topped the charts, next year’s orders are up 400 percent over the same period.
“This upswing coincides with an increasingly military-like style of law enforcement most recently seen in the Occupy Wall Street crackdowns.”
More evidence that law enforcement sees infiltration of a painfully transparent organization as necessary to their investigative efforts which is almost comical if you've ever been to a typical committee meeting or spent any time at the encampment while it existed. Apparently, the Freedom of Information Act isn't going to be enough despite the antics of the “undercover” cops who show up at anything occupy-related:
“Our first reaction was that the FBI was not being forthcoming in its response to our FOIA request. We already know that Jordan T. Lloyd, a member of the FBI’s cybersecurity team in New York, received dozens of emails about Occupy Wall Street he was sent by a man who identified himself as a conservative computer security expert and gained access to the group’s listserv. Loyd responded to at least one of the emails.”
“Our suspicions about the veracity of the FBI’s response were heightened when blogger Marcy Wheeler noted in a recent post that the Justice Department recently admitted that it had been lying in response to requests for certain documents related to ongoing investigations, informants and classified intelligence for more than two decades by stating 'there exist no responsive records to your FOIA request.'”

Here's what happens when bank crooks are confronted with oversight or regulation designed to provide a check to irresponsible, often criminal, lending and business practices:
“The Street’s biggest lobbying groups have just filed a lawsuit against the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, seeking to overturn its new rule limiting speculative trading.”
This is exactly the sort of thing people are finding out about with each article that the mainstream media manage to avoid in their day-to-day reporting. A lawsuit that made a feeble, but welcome attempt to reign in speculative trading practices is met with the full force of the bankers army of lawyers. A little constructive criticism, some new regulations, and the banking interests will make sure the litigation lasts into the next century. In other words, not only do they have the money to stifle common sense legislation at the congressional level, they also have the litigators to outlast any opposition, civil or regulatory, when they can't buy the legislators.
What hope is there to exercise any control over people who effectively control the levers of power, evidence of government collusion surfacing regularly, (our favorite financial writers and experts providing the examples daily?)

“Despite many stories of possible foreclosure fraud, including attorney generals across the country investigating or lawsuits, Bank of America has yet to be federally convicted of any foreclosure crimes.”
You're kidding right?
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on Sunday that an agency established to protect consumers from financial fraud "is something out of the Stalinist era," which must be an inside joke when one considers that he is a leading proponent of the NDAA Sections 1031 and 1032, perhaps the most Stalinist provisions ever introduced in the Senate. And since we all know that agencies with a mandate to protect consumers from fraud are usually part of a communist plot, the senator must be privy to information about all the Stalinists who are behind it. Have you looked inside your refrigerator to see if there are any terrorists hiding in there?
Better late than never
This just in. Alarcon's statement issued on November 30, 2011. Thanks to Mr. G for the heads up.
“Occupy protests have raised the level of debate about incredibly important issues in Los Angeles and in America. The Occupy Movement has never been about a physical encampment—it is about restoring fairness to a political and economic system in this country that far too often benefits the wealthiest 1% while leaving behind hard working people who need our help. This movement must move forward and I am eager to continuing (sic) working with the passionate activists who spoke up throughout the past two months to turn the spirit of the Occupy movement into positive action in Los Angeles.”
Berkeley hippies make comeback:
“The 2-month-old encampment in Civic Center Park - until recently a smattering of tents in the corner - is now a booming megalopolis of tents, banners, dogs and teach-ins. It fills most of the park and has become the largest Occupy protest in the Bay Area.”

Tell it to Bill O'Reilly before he self-destructs on the air:
“Many of these frontline reporters couldn’t tell you the difference between a derivative and a donut, but that didn’t matter because what does matter is face time, airtime, visibility.”

Polling data remains encouraging and provides a source of aggravation and consternation for crooked bank executives who obviously look at accurate news coverage as something to be avoided.
“The poll found that among registered voters in the state, 46 percent said they identify with the movement while 58 percent said they agreed with the reasons that are fueling it. Pollsters did not ask about specific reasons, leaving respondents to decide those themselves”.

Furiosity
WASHINGTON (AP) — “More than one-third of the country supports the Wall Street protests, and even more — 58 percent — say they are furious about America’s politics.”

I'm not an Olberman fan, but he's the guy that told the story, recorded the O'Reilly segment and posted the video. As far as posting information about the cops, it wasn't done here and the only article I saw on the sujbect was the Los Angeles Times account of it. Tonight, the editor and vice-president left that post, his "sudden departure" unexplained, as was the origin of that article. I have yet to see any evidence that such a site existed, or what was posted if it did exist. If you have information on the subject, please consider this an invitation to verify any part of the Times story here.
