Occupy Food4Less

The purpose for OccuplyLA or OWSLA is to unite under the umbrella of the 99% and support those who suffer under the oppressive 1%ers. And right now, hundreds if not thousands of workers who work for Food4Less supermarket are about the receive less. Food4Less, whose parent company owns Ralphs is owned by Krogers in Cincinnati Ohio Kroger is denying benefits and a decent wage for the hard working men and women, selling us food for our survivability.

Kroger's fiscal third-quarter net income was $195.9 million, or 33 cents per share, compared with $202.2 million, or 32 cents per share, in the year-earlier quarter. (http://reut.rs/tbM19V). According Krogers, the profits in Los Angeles did well. But to keep the profits up and to receive a bonus, CEO David B. Dillon is cutting the benefits for employees and the employees are willing to strike (http://bit.ly/tj4EGj)

What makes an economy strong? People like Dillon cutting wages? No. It's giving them and every 99% raises. But it'll cause inflation. Again, no: http://bit.ly/ugxEfW. When we have money in our pocket, we spend. Imagine buying a car? Why do you buy a car? To travel? No. You buy a car to bail out the auto industry. Think for a second:

01) Buy a car
02) Bailout auto industry
03) bailout tire company, steering wheel, brakes, nuts, bolts, frame, and everything that makes up a vehicle
04) Bailout the gas company
05) Bailout the people who dig up the raw material to make parts

By making it here in the U.S., the profits and taxes remain in the states and everyone is employed. What the CEO of Food4Less is doing is wrong and not only will it affect the employees, but the people for whom we bailout.

Should OWSLA picket with the workers? Maybe, but we need to bring it up and show our solidarity and Occupy Food4Less

Organize the Customers

The negotiations can take a long time.  One thing to do is organize the customers, and get them to tell the management that when the pickets go up, the shopping will stop.

I know that OWSLA is "diverse" but there's definitely a middle class, white majority.  Except for the Hollywood Food4Less, you don't see too many white people at Food4Less.  (You don't see many Asians either, but the smattering of Asians still outnumber white people.)

So a group of white people showing up to boycott might not work out so well.  I'm not saying we shouldn't picket with them - but that picketing should be done in ways that don't send a whole bunch of middle class people to a picket.

So get the customers organized.

Then, during a picket, make sure the workers there have food and drinks, and a sack of groceries to take home.
