SATURDAY: National Defense Authorization Act Street Action

Forums:

FACEBOOK:  NDAA Street Action

Let's take the statement regarding the National Defense Authorization Act passed by the GA out on the street to the People.

We'll make some flyers using the statement as text and we'll make up another big mounted blown up version for the public to sign.  We'll probably have people lined up to sign it!  We should also have a bullhorn or PA to read the statement out loud to the public (or we could People's Mic it).

We'll also live stream and video the action for posting on YouTube and try to spread this virally all over the country.

NEEDED FOR THIS ACTION:

--2 flyer distributors/bullhorn

--1 person managing the blow up for public to sign

--1 person on video camera

--flyers

--bullhorn/PA

--video camera

--signs

Note:  Parking at the Hollywood and Highland structure is very cheap with validation.  Just buy a cup of coffee and get your ticket validated.

It's time for all people of good conscience to come together to repel the latest, greatest threat to Liberty, the INDEFINITE MILITARY DETENTION provisions of the NDAA.

We will gather at Hollywood and Highland, spread public awareness, collect signatures on a statement repudiating this Act and then deliver it to CNN where we will demand that the media hear our grievances and record and air the growing opposition to the Police State.

This is where the rubber meets the road!

--Please plan on having a sign of some kind. Some suggestions: "Stop NDAA", "No Indefinite Military Detention", "Senate=93 Traitors", "Save the Constitution", "No Police State", "Impeach the Senate 93". Keep it simple and easy for cameras and passing motorists to see.

--Let's plan on Occupying all 4 corners of the intersection. There is no way we are going to be able to fit on one corner!

--After we get our petitions full of signatures, we could march down to CNN and demand that the media give coverage to the issue. We could rally until a reporter comes down to see our petitions and hear and records our protest and grievances.

NOTES: We are well within our rights to do all of this but individuals who jaywalk across intersections or block traffic or impede pedestrians could be subject to ticketing or arrest by police. So please be careful! If there are unfortunate arrests it gives the media something to tarnish our action. Let's try to avoid that!!

PLEASE INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS! LET'S SPARK A NATIONAL ANTI-NDAA REBELLION! YES, WE CAN!!

We need:

--Video cameras and YouTubers

--Photographers

--Live Stream coverage

--Notices sent out to mainstream media

--Post this event everywhere!!!

By the way, December 15th is Bill of Rights Day! I propose a mass rally at the Federal Building (Wilshire and Sepulveda) from 4-7:30 PM.

Also, this needs to go NATIONAL now. Please post this event on all other orgs and movements who want to defend the Constitution and prosecute the TRAITORS.

The statement:

Occupy Los Angeles Rejects the National Defense Authorization Act

Occupy Los Angeles demands that President Obama veto the National Defense Authorization Act. The legislation includes provisions which destroy the Constitutional rights of Habeas Corpus and Due Process. American citizens and all people everywhere have the inalienable right to contest their imprisonment and to a civilian trial by jury. We reject this and all legislation which abridges these rights as well as the false belief that doing so will make the nation more secure. The bill also contains sanctions against the oil industry and monetary systems of Iran which are clear predcursors to a military attack. Additionally, the bill funds wars that the majority of Americans oppose. These endless, senseless wars only serve the Corporatist interests of the 1% and we oppose this and all legislation which enables and perpetuates them.
