Some of our Occupiers are too young to know that the LA Times is a big paper of the Establishment. The day after we did the protest on Bank of America last thursday, they reported that there was only 100 people out there. Everybody knows that we had from 500 to 1000 folks out there. The LA Times lies!
They've been undercounting Occupy LA all the time. That's when they weren't openly mocking it on their blog.
When it comes to covering protests, they're profesional liars.
There was an event about immigration, a right wing event, in OC years ago. A crowd of pro-immigrant groups showed up to protest. Things got crazy, and the cops aggressively attacked, and hit some people, almost trampled them with horses. The right-wingers also got pretty vocal too.
The LA Times minimized the numbers on both sides, and also moderated each sides message to make it seem less like an intense disagreement, and more like out-of-control kids.
Later, on the forums of both sides, people were griping about the misleading coverage. The two sides could not agree about immigration, but they both agreed that the LA Times was wrong.
Then this happened again with the same two sides and a city council meeting!
See the pattern? They like to keep a lid on protest. They like to paint a picture of LA being fine and dandy, without suffering.
The reason why is simple - their readership and target audience are the top 25% to 10% of LA society. Sometimes they tilt conservative, more often they tilt a little liberal, but they always tilt upper-middle-class. It's not a working person's paper at all.
Beware the wolves in news clothing, beware the wolves in union clothing, beware the wolves in politician clothing, beware the wolves in government clothing,,,they will try to infiltrate and divide and conquer. They are coming with loads of money and promises to buy this movement, to hush this movement...beware! God bless

Nothing to fear but fear itself.
You forgot the police in activist clothing, and the 1% corporate toads in "moderate" and consumerist clothing.
Maybe the TIMES just can not count accurately
