Forums:
My name is Christopher French,
I was arrested along with almost 300 other demonstrators on Tuesday night.
I did not wait, in hopes of being helped by the National Attourney's Guild, or released by the city for lack of just cause. Nor did I post bail at the unjustly high rate set, which I understand is just to deter us from even being able to leave lock-up, since they know that most of our group won't be able to pay that. I immediately contacted the Bail Commisioner (a phone number buried deep inside the fine print on the back of our arresting citations we were issued when booked), and spoke with a VERY KIND young dude named Art, who is extremely sympathetic to the movement. He even thanked me for what we've done.
The Bail Commissioner, in reviewing "our situation" and the shocking conditions and treatment of our group by the LAPD, waived my bail and I just got home. (2:39am on - Thursday, is it?)
I need to speak with those who lead media and communications actions ASAP, in regardds to the treatment and conditions inside LA County Metro holding facility, where most of the demonstrators are still. This was not my first time getting arrested and locked up, but the way things are being handled over there will surprise you.
There isn't any kind of ligitimate "contact" information here, although I personally believe there should be, but I'd like to get ahold of someone named "PJ"(?) or anyone else who may have some authority and ability to help everyone else who paid our high price Tuesday night. I believe I now have the duty to act, having been fortunate enough to get out.
I have nothing to hide, so contact me here: cmfrench@rocketmail.com or here: facebook.com/frenchlaughs

hi French,
first thank you for being on the front lines & taking one for the team. my guy just got out of jail too, and the treatment of y'all, especially given the nature of the "crimes" is just appalling.... he was put in a cell with no blanket, no toilet paper, and a non-working toilet for close to 24 hrs, as punishment because he was sharing the # for the national lawyers guild with other arrestees.
i have no official connections to help or get your post upgraded to the blog or anything, but i can suggest you post this to every place you can, to every occupy facebook page and web forum you can find, tweet it, shout it from the rooftops, whatever you can think of. i will help how i can, doing the same thing.
i'm also going to start a forum topic "ARRESTEES post your stories here" because i think it's important that this stuff be documented and collected in one place.
take a deep breathe and consider that the change in OLA tactics and actions caused by this raid could be the best thing to ever happen to the movement. that which does not kill us only makes us stronger.
rock the fuck on,
isa
