Are there opportunities to occupy foreclosed homes or buildings? Or, can the movement support families that are being pushed out. Maybe occupy their property on the outside and share some of their resources (water, shade, maybe a shower) in exchange for helping them to squat and occupy their homes as long as possible.

i think this is a great idea

i think this is a great idea to start thinking about. In the 1930's, evictions were stopped this way. Land lords would clear out tenants and community members would come back and put them back in! In spain they have a group in the Popular Assembly movement there that goes and nonviolently prevents banks from foreclosing on peoples' houses and have stopped many evictions!
foreclosed homes assigned to low-cost housing

I read about an idea (proposal?) that foreclosed homes would automatically be assigned into a low-cost housing program. That is not as good as people staying in the first place, but it is worth discussing.
real versus ideal

I wouldn't let an idea that might happen get in the way of dealing directly with a situation happening now.
Better to block the eviction happening now, than wish for an almost-as-good idea that probably won't ever get implemented.
