Eviciton is completed. What are our next steps? I suggest the following. The OLA movement has established a relationship with city officials. Let's not abandon communication with them. The morning after the eviction, all the media is focused on is the cleanup of Solidarity Park and the expense to the city. I propose we attempt to facilitate in the cleanup process by contacting city officials and organizing a volunteer team to assist in the cleanup. This way we would show our committment to our community, further our public image, and stay in the forefront of the media coverage. I know this suggestion will be met with resistance by those who resent the city's action in removing us from City Hall. Lets take the high road and pay it forward.

I'm on board.

I disagree with the City's choice to remove OccupyLA from City Hall because I am a citizen of the 99% and I consider City Hall to belong to the people. But because it belongs to all of us, I want it to be a space that is respected and well-cared for -- as a metaphor for how we should respect and care for each other.
I will get out there with trash bags (and rubber gloves!) to help clean up some of the mess left by our brothers and sisters (some of whom may not be able to help because they were arrested). I would love to be out there with other like-minded people who want to show the city that the 99% is committed to making things better, not messier.
Would someone with some organizational chops like to prepare a peaceful clean-up event?

I've got trash bags and a strong back.
Also, it would be good to have sympathetic people sorting through what is left in hopes of getting personal belongings back to their owners.
