Not much activity over night. The cops didn't make any sort of advance on the remaining occupiers at City Hall. Turns our there were five plaintiffs in the federal lawsuit filed on behalf of those who became residents for 58 days. Mario Brito, Matt Ward, Jim Lafferty and two others (Kat and Jessie) made the civil complaint against the city, the mayor and LAPD.

Whether or not this will be a determining factor in the occupation remains to be seen, but it's a good start. Many of the issues we've been discussing, the basis of the occupation in fact, is based on constitutional principles which have been upheld over and over since the beginning of the republic.

For now, the occupation will be in a transitional stage, but the encampment is not the primary issue, nor does it have anything to do with the dialog, the message that most Americans understand without a lot of details attached. That is because we learn more about the banking and financial institutions with every new account that describes the shady business practices, particularly artificial valuations, that resulted in the economic collapse that continues to deprive Americans of income, jobs, education and social services. These are the things that were stolen by those who profited from that collapse.

The message, the discussion that continues here, is the foundation of the Occupation Movement, not the various interests that arrived here along with the first occupiers on October 1, 2011. To that end, we will continue to progress with or without 500 people camped on the City Hall lawn.

This sort of thing has been obvious all along. Some have avoided the subject, but once the Occupation Movement became firmly entrenched in the news cycles, many groups and individuals had a reason to derail it. This is nothing new to politics, and there is no doubt the Occupation Movement is political.

Disrupting the General Assembly has been the work of a few regulars who have somehow become “occupiers” along with those of us. They have stolen property. They have made false accusations. They have committed assaults. They have gotten away with criminal offenses because no one wanted to call the cops and there was no mechanism for removing them physically from the premises. We know who they are, and many disappeared once their work, promoting a chaotic environment, was finsished.

Whatever. The lower forms of life that have visited from the political right have perhaps caused those who occupied Ctiy Hall lots of problems and headaches. But because they have little in the way of useful input in the political arena, they have resorted to using proxies who were actually rather obvious.

We have also noted on previous occasions that there are some who have identified themselves as “spokesperson” to news media and others. They have issued statements, contacted the press on their own, and basically operated autonomously without informing the rest of the group of their intentions or their plans. Some have left the premises and hopefully the Occupation Movement. Others continue to play a faux part in the processes and committees that continue. We will endeavor to find out more about these folks, why the have so often resorted to prevarication to accomplish their agenda, and perhaps their affiliations before they arrived to “help” the movement.

There was an announcement by Anonymous that the banks have been targeted in a big way.

“In regards to the recent demonstrations and protests across the globe, we are going to turn the tables on the banks. Operation Robin Hood is going to return the money to those who have been cheated by our system and most importantly to those hurt by our banks. Operation Robin Hood will take credit cards and donate to the 99% as well as various charities around the globe. The banks will be forced to reimburse the people there money back.”

Now this sounds interesting. How will they return money to those who were victimized by the banks and financial behemoths? As usual, the Anonymous presence seems to parallel much of the same things the Occupation Movement is discussing (or protesting). Stay tuned. “They are arguing that the City Council had passed a resolution in support of Occupy Los Angeles and that the city's mayor and police did not have the authority to evict them.
