Activist and entertainer Rev. Billy along with the Church of Stop Shopping from producer Morgan Spurlock's ("Supersize Me") documentary "What Would Jesus Buy?" have been protesting corruption in the 1% for years. A couple of years ago he told a group consisting primarily of students a story about a Black Friday protest at the United Bank of Switzerland in Manhattan. Standing up for what he believes and getting arrested is obviously something that is normal for him. He and the Church of Stop Shopping Choir have been very active in the Occupy Wall Street protests.
Rev. Billy e-mailed today and expressed interest in visiting Occupy Los Angeles sometime in early December which I announced at the General Assembly this evening. Stay tuned for more updates.
In his latest video, he cleverly mixes humor with some interesting observations in the evolution of the Occupy movement as of mid November.
