Los Angeles, November 17th, 2011 -
I just had a chance to see this video shot and edited by our media member, Clark Davis. The video sends chills down my spine as it bursts at the seams with patriotism, unity and dedication. I am so proud to recognize many of those faces, I am lucky to work and interact with a majority of the participants in this action. They are wonderful and put themselves on the line for their beliefs regardless of unknown and often risky outcome.
Thank you all for your commitment, thank you Clark for making it possible for us to share this with the World.

This is some of the best work

This is some of the best work I've seen yet from the media team. Just excellent. Yeah. Kudos all around.
And, needless to say, excellent work by the people IN the video. I wasn't there (I attended the morning actions, but sold out to The Man® and went to work tonight), but judging by the video, it looks like people kept their cool without losing their passion.
Great job to those arrested, and great job media team

Great job to those arrested and those who participated in the march for emboldening the movement. Great job Clark on documenting this history and being so articulate in your questioning of the police spokesperson. Thanks for posting this Gia!

Who participated or worked in support of this event should be very proud. The fight was taken to the banks doorstep. The action was Focused. Deliberate. Peaceful. Intense. This is the kind of behavior that should continue!
The occupyLA media was on top of this event as seen by livestream, these videos like Clark's and articles on this website. The people who sacrificed their freedoms via arrest and the people who found themselves surrounded by police in riot gear... were focused and determined. The people who held City Hall are just as important............
Above all, the people downtown LA yesterday were *activist* to the extreme while maintaining peace. Eveyone in OccupyLA should be proud.

...but I have real concerns about this video as over 25% (02:34/09:57) of the footage is devoted to one individual:
00:00 - 00:41 Leading the march around the Plaza and being pushed by officers
01:41 - 02:04 Giving a personal Press Conference complete with shoutout to the unions for their involvement
03:33 - 03:58 Main speaker at an Occupy LA Press Confernece / reading a prepared statement
05:35 - 06:22 Meeting with LAPD officers and then communicating his version of what was said at that meeting to the crowd
06:33 -06:52 Again giving his version of the LAPD instructions to those assembled, this time using the human mic
There is general revulsion regarding the activities in the last two clips within OLA. The Transparency Proposal was developed to address these behaviors. There is no reason why the officer could not have spoken directly to those assembled, with or without the assistance of the human mic. No one should be inserting themselves as a liaison between the LAPD and the people as the people want and deserve firsthand information.
It was distressing to see, whether it was intentional or not, such a skewed effort, seemingly in support of the individual-in-question's political ambitions or other career plans. It shows no solidarity with the many activists who work long and hard without any expectation of personal recognition, least of all as being seen as a "leader", which is anathema to most.
Concentrating on this one individual also deflected the main focus from the day's actions and the dozens of individuals who faced arrest as nameless, faceless representatives of the Movement's resolve.
I ask Clark that you please recut this video, using footage from See's excellent Live Stream effort if necessary, to more honestly reflect the reality and ideals of Occupy Los Angeles and our determindly leaderless Movement. IMHO this video, in its present form, is not the image Occupy LA should "share with the World". It made this viewer squirm with embarrassment and anger.
Please also see the comments on YouTube re this video. There is no agenda that justifies angering people to this extent, especially since people are already angry that this individual has taken it upon himself to dominate almost every press report on Occupy LA.
When any one Occupier's purported value to the Movement is compromised by ego, it is beholden upon all of us to require that that person step back or down. Please make it clear where your loyalties lie.
