What is a march if you're on the sidewalk? Why, it's a march on the sidewalk! Where you'll actually get more exposure for your message, if your march is small (<50 people), because you have auto traffic continuing to flow in both directions, along with the pedestrians, who are right there where you are and can ask you questions about your cause. The only drawback is that because it's not hugely illegal, you don't get to pat yourself on the back for being a down-ass radical.
That, erm...*was* a real question you were asking, wasn't it, and not a rhetorical one?
