Falsify the Currency!- N17 Day of Action

As we come closer to the N17 day of action, we would like to express our thanks to occupiers everywhere for your participation in this movement. If Monday night's conference call from the encampment at OccupyLA to 150 other occupations is an indication of our strength, then we are all mighty. Looking back, we have made great gains in taking control of the currency. Working together, we moved at least 4.5 billion to credit unions with the bank transfer day action.

Looking forward, it would be disastrous to the movement if our actions led to the market becoming freer than the people. Remember that, politics are national, but capitalism is global. While the military is commanded by government, weapons of mass destruction are the private property of the 1%. As a result, the more we loosen the ties between bankers and politicians, the more difficult it will be to govern global capitalism.  And sadly, the more violent the oppression will become. In the last instance, the 1% will use overwhelming force to stop us (just look at the news out of the Bay Area). We must rely on our capacity to seek alternatives in non-violence and sharpen our ability to see beyond good and evil.

We urge you to consider the charge: We don’t want higher standard of living for some. We want a better standard of living for everyone. To achieve this, we must work together on building alternative avenues for political action. We create fresh alternatives to the current situation every day by occupying public spaces and watching politicians scurry for their city ordinances. Like mice in a burning building, their scrambling indicates that this movement is hot like fire!  In being so, we must match their oppression with our focused intensity.  As we enter winter, let’s use N17 to turn up the heat by envisioning the world post-Wall St.

Be excellent to each other,

OccupyLA GA 11-13-2011

"the more we loosen the ties between bankers and politicians"

" the more we loosen the ties between bankers and politicians, the more difficult it will be to govern global capitalism. "

Wha...? That's completely backasswards! The entire PROBLEM is the nexus between banks and corporations and government. We need to DEMOLISH and ERADICATE all ties between banks and government. Banks RUN the government for their own benefit. Government is a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of the corporations and banks. We need to get the corporations and banks OUT of government as soon as humanly possible and return political power to the people.

And drop the "global capitalism" schtick. It ain't working. Tired old school rhetoric.

wtf is this?

Was this really put out by the GA??

Can you explain what's behind "Falsify the Currency"?

"we have made great gains in taking control of the currency"
Taking control of the currency? Is that the goal of the Occupy movement? Can you elaborate on this?

"While the military is commanded by government, weapons of mass destruction are the private property of the 1%."
How does this fit in to this posting? Who owns the WMD's exactly? To say the "1%" do is vague. Explain this further.

If this was truly approved by the GA I have to say that I'm dissapointed. It sounds like a 15 year old wrote this.

The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves - in their separate, and individual capacities. -Abe

I wouldn't have thought twice

I wouldn't have thought twice about the post had it not been a communication directly from the GA. It's not that I don't agree with the views stated in the post, they are just a little extreme & off topic from what I thought the goals of the OWS movement were. An outsider who was on the fence about OWS would probably be turned off by this post.

The reference to Diogenes would have been much better if a brief description & link was included in the actual article.

In the fox news link you posted, can you copy & paste exactly what you are referring to? All I saw was that the U.S. & UN owned that majority of the world's WMDs. Are you referring to them as the 1%? I mean sure, you can say America owns them and the 1% has America by the balls therefore they are the owners of the WMDs but I was sort of hoping for more evidence on the direct link between the 1% & WMDs.  I am not disputing this at all, I'm just looking for the evidence on this issue.

Sorry for comparing you to a 15 year old. Perhaps that was a bit mean. The article was just a little over the top for my taste.
