Quoting from the National Weather Service:.."look for the chance for rain to overspread the region from the northwest on Tuesday...with the best chances for rain north of Point Conception. Look for a brief break late Tuesday and early Wednesday before the second and more powerful system impacts the area. While this second system is expected to bring a better chance for rain over the entire region...the details are still not certain. The reason is that the models...although in pretty good agreement...keep changing the track of the second storm. Specifically...at this time yesterday...both models had the storm tracking just to the north of the region and passing as an inside slider...still impacting the region...but not as wet as a storm track with an over water trajectory. Late yesterday the model track suggested the wetter over water trajectory. But now the latest run has shifted back to the inside slider solution. Nevertheless...in either case we are expecting unsettled weather with a significant chance for rain...gusty winds and falling temperatures. Showers should end and skies should begin to clear from the northwest on Thursday with Friday being sunny... breezy with temperature running 3 to 8 degrees cooler than normal."
