Arts and Culture night, Oct. 26

HI, I am involved in an art project that involves interaction with the Occupy Movement. Basically, I have art blankets that I am giving away to homeless Occupiers, in three cities. I have already done this in Buffalo, NY, and would like to do it in L.A., as part of your Art and Culture night, on Oct. 26. I just need to get some video footage of my doing this "performance art" , where I just give away these really cool blankets/ ponchos, in a kind of Abbie Hoffman (STEAL THIS BOOK) fun and humorous style. My sponsor is USA PROJECTS. All I need from your group is an introduction to some folks (5) you think can use a free blanket....if they do not want to have their face on the camera, we can film them so we film their backs. Below is the link to the USA PROJECTS page that explains the project. I live in Las Vegas, and work full time as a civil servant, so its hard for me to come to a planning session. Art Gallery Space in San Pedro

I recently leased a live/work space with a small storefront in San Pedro. This space has excellent potential for a commercial style gallery, for which I've already been approached, however, I would like to make the storefront available for a very nominal fee (i.e. operating expenses) to a non profit for an art gallery space. My first choice is Occupy. Unfortunately, Occupy San Pedro is no longer active. Therefore, I'd like to present this to Occupy LA. If there are a few Occupiers who would be interested in helping run an Occupy art space in the San Pedro area, I would love to hear from you and bat around ideas. This space is located in the San Pedro arts district which is vibrant and growing and has a very well attended First Thursday Art Walk. The idea is to sell art created by Occupiers and also show pieces that depict the Occupy movement. The proceeds going to Occupy, once operating funds are met (electricity, water, etc.) Please know that I am not looking to make money off of Occupy, I'm interested in helping Occupy get funds.
