Margot on the scene: Wells Fargo meets with occupiers

Margot Paez of Insightoutnews.org was on the scene yesterday when occupiers met with Wells Fargo representatives. Cheryl Aichele, Carlos Marroquin, Mark Lipman and others attended the undefined meet-up which is chronicled here:

Media-assisted scam in progress:

According to a recent department report, restoring the lawns to their pre-Occupy condition would cost $76,000. The eventual price tag, however, will likely increase now that city officials are considering a renovation that would incorporate more drought-tolerant landscaping.”

http://www.ladowntownnews.com/news/occupy-l-a-damage-estimates-go-down/article_aaf45de6-4e8b-11e1-acd7-001871e3ce6c.html

So if you subtract the alleged overtime which has been questioned by many, the cost of the occupation to the city is a rather minuscule amount. If we also subtract the maintenance costs to the lawn for the two months occupiers were camped there we can come up with a calculation that is at least as accurate as the bullshit the city put over on the lapdog media. No lawn mowers, trimming, or water was required to destroy the lawn, so subtracting whatever the cost to maintain it for two months may have actually saved the city money when one considers that “drought-resistant” landscaping is a renovation that can hardly be assigned to occupiers.

Thanks to LA Downtown News for demonstrating that once again, the alternative media is necessary not only for the traditional reasons associated with the U.S. Constitution, but also as a means of correcting some of the bullshit we encounter daily from the mainstream (lapdog) media. Now we can start working on a bill to present to city leaders for services rendered, and figure out a way to get them to return the stolen artwork and property that was deemed garbage after the raid.

Twitter account subpoena: Fishing expedition?

"My guess is they are looking for some form of incriminating statement," he said. "Three and a half months of this guy's tweets and personal records – and for what, to go fishing?"

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/feb/07/occupy-protester-subpoeana-twitter?newsfeed=true

Yeah, that's what they do. And it has become obvious that law enforcement is targeting members of the alternative media that have had the audacity to question the status quo; that is that many of our institutions, government, media and financial, are clearly collaborative in their efforts to suppress general knowledge about the various scams described here and elsewhere. So who gets the heat?

Law enforcement has been used in many questionable endeavors, kettling, raiding, confiscating property, punishing, torturing arrestees by depriving them restroom facilities, and so on. Are we supposed to forget that members of the alternative media have clearly been targeted since we began shedding some light on the malfeasance and/or criminality of certain banking executives and politicians? These people aren't stupid. They know that the media effort is the key; that we are talking about issues that have been buried under a mountain of tripe that you can find daily by turning on your TV. How would you like to be a banking executive looking at prison time if it comes to pass that your criminality won't be excused by a laughable settlement arrangement with your alleged regulators?

In all likelihood, the banking and financial services executives have much more to fear than Malcolm Harris, but it is Harris that is targeted. Why? Can we start to make a list of criminal offenses committed against occupiers, especially those who have taken it upon themselves to help spread the OWS message in the media environment?

The levers of government, the tools of control in any police state is the threat of arrest and imprisonment for dissident behavior. So framing their attacks on media members must be shrouded in another phony scenario of illegal activity, just like the cost-to-the-city yarn regarding the lawn. If enough bullshit is “reported” by the mainstream media, somehow it becomes factual in the minds of the sheep who aren't inclined to question what they are told. And of course this tends to deflect attention from the real issues, the culpability and liability of the financial wizards that systematically stole the savings, homes, jobs and economic future of so many Americans since the 2008 meltdown, and continue to do so today.

So we are treated to the headline story about Malcolm Harris, suspect. We don't know what he's “suspected” of doing that was illegal, but the real stories, the ones that pertain to all Americans that don't happen to be members of the 1%, are pushed aside while we try and figure out what Malcolm might have done to deserve this bullshit subpoena; a fishing expedition by Bloomberg, NYPD, and prosecutors that are obliged to find a way to put the alternative media behind bars for obvious reasons.

Occupywalk.org

Occupiers from So Cal are going to trek across the country on foot. Yep, that's what they are telling us, and a simple calculation tells us that it will probably take most of a year to do it. It s a great way to draw attention to the message, and another creative form of protest that will test the stamina of this group.

Check out the website as it still seems to be in a formulation stage, but best of luck to the participants. And please, send reports and videos of it. The meets with other occupations, and whatever else may occur on the way, are sure to be great stories.

Holy shit! It's Roseanne

Roseanne Barr is running as a Green Party candidate for President California Secretary of State Deb Bowen confirmed. The 2012 presidential campaign keeps getting better and better. First a bunch of comical, and inane, malaprops from Republicans, now the professionals stepping up to show them how it's done. Go Roseanne!

The actress-comedian released a statement last week saying she’s a longtime supporter of the Green Party and she looks forward to working with people who share her values. She says the two major parties aren’t serving the American people.”

The petition to save an occupy supporter from eviction needs your support. Ms. T offered to help the movement after calling occupiers for help versus Wells Fargo. The foreclosure proceedings against her appear to be flawed and Ms. T wants to make her payments. Wells Fargo has refused to accept and seeks to evict her from her home. Please sign the petition found at this link and look for updates here:

new Wells Fargo scam

Let me see if I have this right. Tax payer money is used to provide the down payment on a loan that will more then likely end up being too expensive because eventually interests rate will go up and the person will no longer be able to afford the monthly payment. The area where these homes are located is an economically depressed area where people most likely will not have jobs anyway.Wells Fargo gets the downpayment plus the monthly payment until the bubble pops.Somehow Occupyla's name got stamped on a meeting with these law breaking theives. One would have to asks , why would the Occupy movement be meeting with these fools? Isn't that something the mayor or some elected official would do to pretend they are interested in helping the poor? I can't imagine the GA would agree to this? It turns my stomach when I see ,"Occupy people to meet with Wells Fargo." What's next , Homeland Security, so we can talk about them meeting with mayors to shut down our camps?I guess there are still people who believe that there are good banks and bad banks, and nice cops and not so nice cops, and some police state and some democracy. Next time individuals want to play 1% politics, please just put their name or organization and leave Occupy's name alone unless the GA has agreed to play.

Thanks! I agree about the quality of the Occupy people, I have personal experience with one of them who was there and have much respect.I usually don't make these type of comments but I felt a strong need to express what I feel this horizontal movement is about, and what it's not about.
