Both of the pending trademark applications have now been placed with the same examiner. Right now would be a very good time for the group to have a lawyer on their behalf contact the examiner to say the applications did not come in from the unincorporated association named Occupy Los Angeles. There will, however, be a chance to do so if and when these applications reach a further stage, but that requires a formal filing. Either or both of the applications could be rejected by the trademark examiner, or more information could be required before proceeding on either.
NOTE:
I was working with a member of the legal committee on these trademark things until I and the work were rudely and inappropriately disrupted, harassed, and defamed by the people running the OLAASM twitter and site, and their supporters.
IMPORTANT: I do not and never have posted onto the OLA listserve. Anything you see supposedly "from" me is NOT from me. I DO NOT conduct legal business (or any business) via list serve and anyone posting anything with my name is acting in violation of law and decency.
I do not read the OLA list serve, but am having it all archived as evidence.
This harassment by the OLAASM group and its supporters is being done to MANY people from Occupy LA and to MANY volunteers giving their time to the group. Please be aware of what is happening to people within the group and those that are volunteers. The OLAASM group and its supporters have publicly defamed the lawyers, the social media team, the website runners, the writers, the medics, the GA, those for nonviolence, and so many more. (Update today they are attacking the livestreamer. The attacks are ongoing. Please be aware of this ongoing destructive, disruptive, harmful force that has embedded itself within Occupy LA.

needs to be kicked off the committee. This is a clear violation of the rules and proof that many in the media committees are abusing their privileges for monetary gain.
She is also engaging in a misinformation campaign to maintain her position for personal monetary gain.

I was away for a couple of days, handling some real life things, I did not see the "photo" in question until today. One of the other mods should have edited the piece and changed the photo, as yes, it was inapparopriate.

she using this forum to accuse people of being infiltrators in the FBI, NSA, CIA, Flouride in Water Department. Do you not expect people to respond? It is all done in the name o OLA. This is only recruiting more dissidents. You can't openly insult people that o better or worse he right to their positions then point the finger and provoke others. Why not focus on the actual movement on this site and resolve these disagreements in another forum?

Unless she is specifically naming people, there is nothing wrong with Sue accusing people of being infiltrators. Her opinions stated on this website are not done in the name of OLA. I'm pretty sure just about anyone can get a blog on here.
If on the other hand, she were to say "Hey, Mr. Foreskin over there is an undercover CIA agent & is trying to destroy the Occupy movement", then yes, that would be considered a "personal attack".
Otherwise she is just expressing her opinion. Whether it is valid or not, is up to the individual reader. We can't go censoring every person we don't agree with. That's the kind of fucked up action our government would take.

Change the name of the site then. If someone on the fence reads this paranoia then goes to an action and see's 40 people, they are gonna think OLA is out of touch with reality. Why? Cause 40 people is not a threat to power. Occupy LA for better or worse does not scare authority. 100,000 people in the streets scares authority. The cops see Occupy as a lawsuit liability more so then a threat to entrenched power. So come back down to planet earth and live in the real world.
Occupy posts everyone online and streams everything. Why would they need to spy? GA's are not shrinking because of some people are critical of the media committee, rather they are shrinking cause the movement is in a period of decline. Or because the messaging of the OLA media team is not appealing.
Making wild eyed claims like this is a way of avoiding reality. Occupy LA is in decline. So, instead of going off into la la land, take a step back, listen to what critics are saying, and think of a way to move forward.
Your right about the government not hearing the 99%. The 1% who control Occupy Media are acting JUST LIKE THEM. You can block, delete, ignore, or make claims not based in reality but that still will not save Occupy LA from decline. Other more constructive action must be taken.

I know you've been a member of this site for a whopping 31 hours, but I don't think you'll have much luck in convincing the people/members of OLA who run this site to change its name. Good or bad, decline or rise, IT IS WHAT IT IS. "Occupy Los Angeles" and "Occupy Wallstreet" are merely names. I don't know if it will exist six months from now but the true activists & people who truly give a shit will remain even when it is no longer convenient or appealing to the rest of the people.
If the Occupy movement proves to be ineffective then let it deteriorate & allow for something else to take its place. The real movement is in the people - not in the name.

The 99% vs 1% concept is now in the daily conversations of people all around the world.With massive police actions against the occupy Movement, over 400 arrested in Oakland ,Occupy is still here bringing the issues to the public that our elected officials keep silent on .With daily attacks by police at occupy events, and negative posts by people who have never participated in Occupy, plus corporate media staying silent while their own reporters are being denied 1st amendment rights, occupier's sitting in jail for exercising 1st amendment rights,this "declining" movement is still alive and well.
