Keith Olbermann read the following declaration on the air which is dated September 30, 2011 by the NYC General Assembly

As we gather together in solidarity to express a felling of mass injustice. We must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members, that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of this system, it is up to th individuals to protect their own rights and those of their neighbors, that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but the corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth, and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our government. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity and continue to give executives exorbitant bonuses.
They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of ones skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
They have poisoned the food supply through negligence and undermined the farming system through monopolization.
The have profited from the torture, confinement and cruel treatment of countless animals and actively hide these practices.
The have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education which is itself a human right.
The have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers healthcare and pay.
They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press. They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profits.
They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
They have donated large sums of money to politicians who are responsible for regulating them.
They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save peoples lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.
They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.
They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.
They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.

To the people of the world, we the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square urge you to assert your power.

Exercise your right to peaceably assemble, occupy public space, create a process to address the problems we face and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy we offer support documentation and all the resources at our disposal. Join us and make your voices heard.

Clarify Please

Was the declaration dated 9/30/11 & he read it on the air today?

To OWS, OLA & The Media & Talk show host's who throw their support behind OWS & OLA, or may sympathize with our movement, I would pose the following statement's & question's for your response:

All due respect to Mr. Olberman, as well as any other "Media & Talk Show Host", their Number 1 Priority is to keep their show on the air.

Due to "The 99%" philosophy of OWS OLA, igniting our revolution against the Greed & Unfair Business practices of the other 1% , Corporation;s, The Financial Industry & the Politician's who paved their ways. There is already an obvious "Conflict of Interest" between our revolution &  the "Media & Talk Show Host's". This is a fact based on who the Media &  Talk Show Host's work for, the major corporation's, & those who pay for the show's, The other major corporation's along with many companies who are a part of the Financial Industry.

So I ask, when the invertible happens, some time during the course of our revolution, and the media or talk show host is faced with the decision of how to cover us due to the pressure applied by their employer's or advertiser's, will you:

A) Sacrifice your career's & ignore what your employer's or advertiser's require of you

B) Abandon us

Those are the only two choices you will have, no matter how you may want to spin a third or fourth choice.

What will you do?

To "Occupy" I ask,

With all due respect to the media & talk show host's, can they be trusted? There is a conflict of interest.

Don't waste the effort of this movement, don't compromise the importance of this movement, a movement that involves hundreds of million's of individual's in this country, and all those other billion's watching our effort through out the world.

Cool down dude

Without the media behind OWS, it will be a short-lived enterprise. Keith has been the one standout who was with you from the beginning, and can be a tremendous ally. You may see him as part of the MSM, but he and his employer are fairly non-corporate (compared to others in the media) and very understanding of your cause. You need him and perhaps others like him to gain traction and build a following, whether you like it or not. You can use their influence without selling out to them. But understand that he is what he is, and you won't change that.

Keith Olberman

Keith Olberman has been a champion for Progressive causes for the past 7+ years. This is not someone you turn away or condemn just because he has attained some standing in the media. He stood up to MSNBC and left them because they tried to muzzle him. How do you think this movement is going to grow and get strong without support with people like Keith. You are living in a delusional fantasy if you think you can get a movement going without help from people like him. You are in the preverbial danger of throwing out the baby with the bath water as you fantasize about some "pure" revolutionary movement. Please get real. The movement needs good publicity and support. Cable networks like MSNBC have been very supportive of OWS and have given it publicity when the mainstream media was ignoring it.

Kapitalist Keith

olberman made $4 m a year building his brand, i mean supporting progressive causes. Once he "stood up" to msnbc he left to take a $10 m a year job. He sure doesnt sound like 99% of the people i know. How much has he donated to our cause?

This is entirely irrelivent.

This is entirely irrelivent. Is involving him supporting the cause? Is it corrupting the cause in any way? Because if the answer is yes he is supporting us and no it isn't corrupting or perverting us then YES WE SHOULD ACCEPT HIS HELP. To say otherwise would admit a profound naivety. ALWAYS ACCEPT HELP you know won't make you beholden to someone else. We must always be focused on success, simply that during that drive for success we should never lose sight of who we are. But without eyes on the prize and willingness to negotiate you'll never make it.

This isn't about compromising on core principles or compromising at all. It's about taking every advantage you can get, that's just what smart people do.

Krooked keith

well, from where i sit krooked kapitalist keith makes $10 m a year and didnt pay his taxes in 2008. So you think its ok if someone in the top 1% doesnt pay his fair share as long as he agrees with you? Thats the problem here: he builds his audience and gets rich while making us look like hypocrites. As far as im concerned he can go packing back to Trump tower

Kapitalist Keith is NOT the enemy.

So are you opposed to just anyone who makes a lot of money? Olberman is not making money at the expense of the vast majority of Americans as Wall St. has done. He is a voice for progressives and more power to him if he is making money in the process. I do not know what he has donated to "our" cause but I would bet that he has donated to progressive causes. However, that is not the point. He is very vocal in pointing out the injustices in our system and being critical of those who aim to eliminate the meager safety net that we have for our citizens and the abuses of those in power. If you think that this movement that we are attempting to start is going to go anywhere without help from the "progressive" media, then you are sadly mistaken. Fox and the Rupublican party have already demonized this movement, while MSNBC and many Democrats are supporting it. You need to get real and see what we are up against and understand who are your allies and who are your enemies. Accept help from those who are in a position to help and stay focused so that you are not co-opted. By refusing help from allies, with some power, will only condemn the movement to a quick waltz into obscurity. Stay strong and keep an open mind.

The Scorpion and the Turtle

K9allstars, are you familliar of the story about The Scorpion and the Turtle? give er a google m8, it's a good analogy.

You say we need the media, well maybe something like needing Stalin & the Russian's in WWII,  Remember how well that turned out after Germany surrenderd? We have the social network which seemed to work pretty well for the Egyptian's.

And dude, if I cooled down anymore, I'd be dead, why don't you grab a coffee. Frankangelo, your gonna need a whole pot.

Press This

I read much of why we fight, the truth of this fight, and even how to organize for this fight by reading “The Book of Jack” by Gandesbery. I hope that is blessed, I hope you have it with you.  I plan to buy 10 copies to hand out in my home town. May God Blass you all for being so brave and him for writing how to do it.

It’s funny how the socialist big money machine is attempting to ignore you, me, us. You know that CNN and other owned mouth pieces of the old money that controls us tries so hard not to talk about us in a positive way.

Their fake news spewed out over the nation is set against us. Yes against America at large.

They don’t like to admit that the Tea Party, The Occupation of Wall street, the support of Ron Paul over their socialist puppet choices are all linked. We the people, the pissed off, fed up, and fully awake now people. It’s the 99% finally taking off the blinders and the chains. God Bless You.

America never mind we begin to see them for who they are.  Focus on change and move only forward. Remain invested in the futures of OUR tomorrow. Fighting now spares dying later.

May God Bless Your Efforts/Lives!!!!!

Mass removal from office is approach.

Corporations have only been able to get away with such crimes, because the Politicians they bought off sold their souls for the money they received. I say that we make a conserted effort to pinpoint specific relationships between Politicians and Corporations, and in mass, start removing those Politicians from office. By maintaining our peaceful posture along the way, and using critical thinking whenever the media has something to say, we can reverse engineer our way back to what our Founding Fathers set up for us...

A mass removal from office is

A mass removal from office is useless without process reforms to make it easier to RUN good politicians for office. What's entirely perverted the process is that because economics is now one of the major determiners of who enters politics the political process is universally slanted towards the economic interests of the 1%.

We MUST REFORM PROCESS FIRST. Who do you think is going to vote these politicians out? Who do you think will pick the next ones after them? Because if we change NOTHING it will certainly not be WE THE PEOPLE as if WE THE PEOPLE were working within a functional system we would never have gotten into this place to begin with. WE MUST Pursue campaign finance and anti-corruption reforms with a vengeance. It is only once we have made it so that economics is entirely irrelivent to one's ability to engage in politics that we can hope for proper representation of the interests of the 99% within the body politic.

Mass removal from office is an approach.

Corporations have only been able to get away with such crimes, because the Politicians they bought off sold their souls for the money they received. Good points FedUp

How is change going to be implemented by the concerted effort of "Occupy & The 99%"?

Only through enormous pressure, can we pin down our elected officials. Exposing their illegal & imbalanced favoritism & questionable ethic's, bringing them down to the carpet & publicly displaying their action's as well as similar action's taken by Lobbyist's & those calling the shots for the Greedy 1%. Through this exposure are demands would have a chance to be met.

We could plan boycotts, which would be Enormously effective, if they were taken seriously & responsibly by The 99% in total Solidarity.

At any rate, Exercising The Devil & his Demon Army who defend the 1%, is a very difficult objective, but not impossible.

"Long Live Occupy, Long Live The 99%"!
