This video is what a good media team member can do. I find this one of the most well done depictions of an action that I've seen so far. My friends from Occupy Las Vegas came down to take part in the Long beach Port action, this video is a result of their awesome visit.
Long Beach, December 12, 2011 -The West Coast Port Blockade Action in Los Angeles Harbor's Long Beach ports this morning was scheduled for 4:30 AM at Harry Bridges Memorial Park. According to Occupy Media's Lady Libertine, the protest began with "the usual chanting and the usual drumming" as hundreds of Occupy protesters gathered at the Port of Long Beach in an action to shut down commerce by closing off the entry way into the port.
Director Anna Pescador of The Latino Museum at 514 S. Spring Street came to visit Occupy Los Angeles and upon her visit observed the works of the many artists occupying. Impressed, she thought it befitting to present an exhibition of the artwork that the Occupy movement of Los Angeles had produced.
Every Thursday Annie Appel would come by and photograph us. Go to her blogger site and check out the amazing pictorial in black and white. In regard to the surreal memories that each of us hold in our hearts, this is something good to go by. Much Love and Solidarity, Yvonne.
At 6pm every evening we hold a media meeting lon the West Steps of City Hall. I was a little late last night because I was fixing up my 3 bedroom tent. I had packed it up Sunday night around quarter to midnight knowing that the planned time of the raid on Solidarity Park was supposed to go down at midnight.Tonight, PJ walked onto the West Steps and announced, "We just got the word that the LAPD is moving in at 8:30pm". I looked at the clock on the LA Times Building. I was 7:39 PM. We had an hour. Oh you sly fox Villagarosa. Creep.
