OccupyLA not going anywhere, We are Everywhere!

It is the morning of the 58th day of Occupy Los Angeles. I am not physically at the occupation, but my heart still is. We were scheduled to go to a conference, which will lead to making a stronger network for all occupy cities. I know some people on the ground in Los Angeles are unhappy I left, not realizing I am of more use on the ground continuing to work and lend support, then I would be protesting and put in jail. I am currently waiting on the results of Councilman Rosenthals call for a temporary hold.

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- "A man collapsed while doing some Black Friday shopping in a crowded store, and people nearby continued to shop . . . Witnesses tell WSAZ.com some shoppers walked around and even over the man's body."

Morning Report: Occupation 2.0

Mayor Villaraigosa served notice on Friday that Occupy Los Angeles is no longer welcome, the occupiers asked to leave by 12:01 AM Monday morning. This of course, caused angst and consternation amongst the occupiers, but it was by no means a surprise to anyone who has been following the news.

 

South Central Farmers Declare Solidarity with Occupy Los Angeles

When causes reach out and band together, true movements for economic and social change begin and coalesce. In standing in support of the South Central Farmers, Occupy Los Angeles stands with our occupation of the South Central Farm five years ago, our struggle for healthy food and community rights, and with Los Angelenos' long history of resistance to our city leaders' oppression of those among our friends and neighbors who are least advantaged.

Giving Thanks: Personal Perspective

I write this blog speaking for myself and no one else.

Today is day 55 of Occupy Los Angeles, and we are now facing eviction in the coming week. Today is known to many as "Thanksgiving" but the holiday as it is known to many is a farce. So instead today we celebrate "Giving Thanks" along side our indigenous committee.
