Re: Resolution in SUPPOET of the Peaceful Occupy Los Angeles Protests to be heard on Tuesday, October 11, during the 10 AM Council meeting

Occupy Los Angeles Protestors:

For far too long the American public has been silent while many financial institutions and large corporations remain unaccountable for their actions. Like you, I believe that we must take drastic, bold measures to take our country back.

Attached is a Resolution that I have introduced this morning with Councilmember Bill Rosendahl and seconded by Council President Eric Garcetti and Councilmembers Jose Huizar, Ed Reyes, Paul Koretz and Dennis Zine. This resolution supports the goals of Occupy LA and the need for responsible banking reform.

The resolution has been referred to my Committee, Intergovernmental Relations, but I am waiving the resolution so it can go straight to the City Council. The resolution in SUPPORT of Occupy LA is expected to be heard by the Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday, October 11th during the 10:00 AM City Couoncil meeting.

I encourage members of Occupy LA to attend this meeting and speak in support of this Resolution.
