Citizen journalists under attack:

We have watched videos like those below with great interest because we have learned that the lapdog media is perfectly content to ignore them. They are the work of citizen journalists who have attempted to compensate for this negligence, the alternative media becoming the primary purveyors of videos and news coverage of occurrences pertaining to the Occupation Movement. And guess what? The cops don't like it.

So some have engaged in what appear to be unprovoked attacks on journalists, often confiscating or destroying their property, just like any other criminals that don't want their activities to become public. This has become part of pre-raid tactics that swept across the Occupy Nation after it became apparent that not only were the protests gaining support, but the message was beginning to shift the political discussion taking place in another bland, uneventful election season.

I could add dozens if not hundreds of others here, but to make the point the most recent examples were selected. It used to seem a bit of an exaggeration to talk about a police state or the manifestations of fascism here in America. But what else can a reasonable person conclude except that attacks like the pepper spray incident at UC Davis have become an acceptable response to a movement that endeavors to educate the public about the reasons for economic hardship?

The lard-ass financial industry, which produces nothing except for misery amongst those who have suffered for the rampant greed that propels it, is understandably becoming restless. The more the public becomes educated about the various banking scams described here, the more likely they are to join the protest against their felonious activities. Politicians, fearing the consequences of doing anything but kissing the ring (and asses) of their benefactors, are predictably passing legislation clearly designed to contain this knowledge which is the same thing as saying the Occupation Movement.

Yesterday I saw a sign that clarified one of the key problems not only for occupy protesters, but also the 99% who have been systematically victimized by the banking sector. “I would boycott the banks' products if they actually produced anything.” Thanks to the unidentified individual that left that sign behind at a recent rally. It raises a number of interesting points that have been made here, but not with as much clarity and simplicity.

First, there is no way to actually take a decisive stand against Wall Street crooks. Not only do they own Wall Street, they also own the lapdog mainstream media and most of the politicians that feed at their money trough. They do not fear risk because they do not fear losses, and they certainly do not fear prosecution.

There is one exception to this dynamic; one example of how the general population can vote with their pocketbooks. That would be Bank Transfer Day, the true impact of which was never known. But damn if it didn't appear to cause a reaction that continues to this day. The militaristic tactics of civilian police, coupled with the armories they have accumulated courtesy of the same people that have killed hundreds of thousands of civilians abroad, can't be written off as coincidental. Nor can the passage of the NDAA be dismissed without consideration of the dismal polling numbers government officials have managed to bestow upon themselves.

It is difficult to imagine that the influence of the banks, along with lobbying groups like the Central City Association in Los Angeles, is separate from what appear to be attacks on free speech, assembly, and activists that rely on constitutional guarantees to affect social change.

The Occupation Movement is as American as a cheeseburger and a milk shake. This country did not become what it was because sheep-like zombies sat around allowing themselves to be oppressed by the lard-ass sector who became filthy-rich exploiting labor and the underclasses in general. We're seeing it again now in dramatic fashion, but this time there is enough evidence to prosecute, and the useless and greedy must be getting worried about it.

America has a reason to gripe. They have suffered massive losses to income, jobs, home values, retirement funds, and so on. They are beginning to understand why, and many already do. They watch as common criminals walk away with stolen loot. They watch as education, social services and health care disappear before their eyes and the more educated they become, the more fearful the lard-ass sector becomes. Pointing this out is un-American or anti-capitalist? I don't think so.

On the political side, the historically low regard that Americans have for their elected leaders is striking. The discontent is not without a definable cause and the relationship between the thievery of the banking industry and the symbiotic relationship it enjoys with regulatory agencies like the SEC, the Treasury Department and the Congress is all heaped together now into one rather large, stinking monument to corruption.

The average American is beginning to realize that they have no real representation because they simply can't afford to buy it like the banking sector does. Their vote hardly matters because it is based on rhetoric that is summarily ignored by those who win elective office. What's the point?

To this end, and for the benefit of all of the 99%, this reminder: Bank Transfer Day is not just a day. It must remain a focal point for the movement. We can't boycott a non-existent product, but we can deny the lard-ass sector the income they derive from their criminality and misconduct. Move your money. No one is obliged to allow Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, US Bank and other members of the Central City Association to steal their hard-earned money, their homes, their retirement savings and the future of their children.

No one is obliged to accept corruption or criminality when it relies on the levers of power that are bestowed by the governed. So remember, moving your money, a simple act of protests, may be the most effective thing you can do until the election in November. Close your account. Tell them that you are not willing to finance criminal conduct, illegal foreclosures, bogus credit swaps, fraudulent lending practices, phony financial products, and all the other means they have of divesting middle America and literally starving the poor out of existence.

The Occupation Movement isn't just a shift in the political dialog. It is a consciousness that has forced people to reflect on the morality of America's grandest institutions v. America's most cherished liberties. The power the Occupation Movement is a derivative of the human spirit. The lard-ass sector's power is a derivative of, well, derivatives, another phony, transparent scheme of divestiture.

And while you are considering the merits of these observations, Reuters was preparing to publish the following article as if to make the point for me. You see, the banking sector isn't investing in America or anyone else. They are betting on failure because they know they are capable of insuring it:

No morality. No social consciousness. No scruples. No regard for the laws supposedly regulating their activities. Only greed; the appetite for more of other people's money. But their arrogance is now being replaced by a fear of being held accountable. They are now relying on unconstitutional suppression of free speech, violence committed by rogue law enforcement officials, threats, intimidation, theft of personal belongings and all the other trappings of any other criminal organizations.

It is time for the people to take action, for the regulators to take the “dramatic” law enforcement actions that have been promised, and for all who have the option of moving their bank accounts to institutions that do not engage in flagrant criminal activities at the expense of their depositors and the taxpayers.

Do it today, because if you don't you are financing the lard-ass sector. You are furnishing their mansions, buying their yachts, helping them to foreclose on the innocent victims of their greed. It doesn't cost anything, and in fact you will actually save money by moving your money to a credit union.

Do it today, because you are not obliged to help them maintain their frauds and scams or to finance their bets that the global economy will fail.

Do it today, because if you don't there will be no one else to blame. There is certainly no way to hold them accountable while the status quo remains protected by brute force, armor, batons, tear gas and assholes like Sgt. Milano.
