Los Angeles Times outsources customer service!

Forums:

Last Sunday the LA Times failed to deliver my paper.  I called & they said it was too late to deliver that day, but they'd credit me.  I decided to just cancel it, which they refused to do, offering me ever increasingly attractive incentives to stay with them, as I continued to decline, demanding they just cancel it.  They kept me on the phone 20 mins., never agreeing to cancel my subscription.  I finally hungup in disgust.  During the ordeal I came to find out they were not in the U.S.  I believe they are in the Phillipines, but they were (understandably) reluctant to disclose that.  Imagine that!  I miss a paper & have to talk to another country to get a replacement!  So I've come to the conclusion that I should inform any & all interested that the LA Times is just one of the fat cats that has sent our jobs overseas.  If that issue bothers any other subscribers, you might want to cancel your subscription as well.  Boycott the Times!  Bring our jobs back!

Boycott

I had a similar experience, they canceled me after 25 years, because I was 1+1 bills late. So I called & canceled them. Of course, new incentives to stay. I had been thinking about canceling to start because the 1% troll who owns the Times now, is AWFUL.

When the little 1%troll finally sells the LA Times, by the way after a HUGE loss :) I'll subscribe again. I don't know if I'll find it something interesting nowadays...
