Campaign Finance Meeting with City of L.A.'s Ethics Commission

Description:

WE NEED YOUR VOICE!

The city of Los Angeles is deciding what the future of our public financing system will be. With a string of poorly-decided Supreme Court cases including Citizens United and Arizona FEC, we are fighting to make sure the city does not turn back the clock on the campaign finance reforms that Angelenos have repeatedly supported at the polls.

We need to show support for the public campaign financing system and oppose efforts to dismantle it. You can weigh in Tuesday, November 15th at the LA City Ethics Commission's "Interested Persons" meeting.

When: Tuesday, November 15 from 2:00-4:00pm

Where: Los Angeles City Hall, 200 North Spring Street, Room 1050 (10th Floor), Los Angeles, CA 90012

For more details, help with directions or parking, or to tell us you are coming, contact us at 213.252.4552.

You can tell the LA Ethics Commission that you stand for reforming the current matching funds campaign finance system by:
1. Making candidates more accountable to the public, not special interests;
2. Incentivizing candidates to fundraise and connect with constituents in their districts, not interests outside the city; and

3. Increasing voter information.

Please help us improve public financing in L.A., and create a model that could be used in cities across the country. Now is the time to tackle special interests and money in our politics! We hope to see you on November 15.

Sincerely,

Anjuli Kronheim
